MEP is the most common source of programme loss on Qatari projects, and almost always for the same reason: the packages are procured separately and nobody owns the interfaces.
When the builder also holds MEP, a specific set of problems simply do not arise. Slab penetrations are cast in rather than cut later. Riser sizes account for what will actually be installed. Plant rooms are sized before the walls go up. Electrical loads are confirmed before the supply is agreed. Coordination between trades happens as a normal part of the programme.
