Systems that would be generously sized in a temperate climate run permanently at capacity in Qatar. The consequences of getting it wrong are specific and expensive:
Undersized plant never reaches setpoint in July and August, runs continuously, and fails early.
Oversized plant short-cycles, which wastes energy, fails to dehumidify, and shortens compressor life.
Poor duct insulation causes condensation inside ceiling voids. In Qatar's humidity this shows up as ceiling staining and mould within a single season.
Unbalanced systems leave some rooms unusable while others overcool, and the occupant response is to drop the whole setpoint, which raises the bill for the entire building.
We size to calculated load, not to rule of thumb, and we commission and balance rather than simply energising the system at handover.
Because we deliver civil, electrical and plumbing works in-house, HVAC is coordinated with the structure rather than fitted around it. Riser positions, slab penetrations, plant room provisions and electrical loads are resolved at design stage. On projects where MEP is appointed separately from the builder, this is consistently where programme is lost.
