Building a mosque carries a responsibility beyond the technical. The orientation of the qibla wall governs the plan. Acoustics determine whether the imam can be heard without amplification distorting the space. Ablution facilities require drainage and durable surfaces. Separate access and prayer provision for women is planned from the outset, not added.

The finishes carry weight of their own. Mihrab detailing, marble, calligraphy, ceiling geometry and lighting are all part of how the building is experienced, and all demand craftsmanship rather than standard specification.

Cooling a large, high-volume space used intensively at fixed times of day is a specific mechanical challenge, particularly for Friday prayers in summer.
