Libraries place unusual demands on a building. Floor loadings for book stacks are far higher than for general occupancy. Environmental control has to protect the collection, which in Qatar's climate means managing humidity as carefully as temperature. Lighting must serve reading without exposing materials to damaging levels. Acoustics have to support quiet study.

The shelving, reading furniture and study joinery are integral to how the building works, not an afterthought — which suits a contractor who manufactures joinery in-house.

A project delivered for Al Awqaf carries an institutional standard of documentation and compliance throughout.

What We Did

Brouj Doha delivered civil and structural works, interior fit-out, bespoke joinery and furniture and HVAC installation on this project, under a single contract with one site team accountable for the whole scope. Works were carried out to Qatar Construction Specifications, with engineering and QA/QC sign-off at each milestone before the following stage began.
